Brother Harold Crawford Fine

 -1946-

A master's job is never done, it lives on through the ages.

The annual Installation of Officer's was held on January 26th and musical selections were performed by Miss R. Wamsley and Miss S. Accord, and were enjoyed by all. Dancing, visiting and refreshments rounded out the evening.

In February the matter of investing the candidates with their own trowels was discussed and carried by motion and vote. The Secretary was instructed to provide the trowels for the future candidates.

Worshipful Master Fine brought up to the Lodge the matter of keeping the Lodge clean and the cooking duties in the kitchen, and it was passed by motion and vote that we hire someone to keep the Lodge clean on a weekly basis.

In May there was discussion for an electric drinking fountain, protection for the stained glass windows, and quieting the cooling system that was installed in the Lodge room.

On May 24th Clovis Lodge was visited by the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Mason's in California, Wor. A. W. Brouillet, and it was a great night for Masonry. Master's from all of the Lodge's within 30 miles of Clovis were there and the Grand Master gave the attentive brethren a very interesting discourse on Masonry in our world today and in the future. Worshipful Master Fine was in charge of introductions.

In the summer a motion was carried to purchase new officer apron's and collars along with new member apron's. A $50.00 payment was sent to Yolo Lodge 81 for the re-building of their Lodge which was lost to fire.

On August 6th Bro. Fred Smith PM and charter member of Clovis Lodge was laid to rest in McFarland, Ca., and Delano Lodge 309 officiated at the Masonic Service. Kind words offered were, "Bro. Fred will long be remembered for his proficiency in the Lodge work and his great interest in Masonry and in the early history of Clovis Lodge."

A new roof was completed and the building committee was complimented on their fine job. A resolution passed to amend the bylaws to read that the cost of the three degrees would be $75.00 as ordered by Grand Lodge.

On November 26, 1963, Past Master Harold Fine passed away suddenly in Clovis. Services were held on November 30, 1963. Kind words spoken were, "Brother Harold will be greatly missed by his Masonic Brethren and his many friends here in Clovis, where he spent practically all of his life. It can surely be said that he not only knew the Masonic work ritualistically, but exemplified the principle's and tenet's of Freemasonry in his daily life."
